I found Panama to be a very interesting place. There are all these massive skyscrapers - many of them new - and not a stone's throw away is some dilapidated old structure. It's a city of contrasts. Old and new, ruined and shiny, poor and rich. It makes for some very interesting photography.
In this shot I tried to capture a little of that contrast I am referring to. I was wandering in Casco Viejo (Panama's old city) and knew that if I could just find the right spot that I could see the skyline across the way.
Eventually, after a few detours and dead-ends, I came to a spot which gave me a little bit of the old city - which was in decay, like a lot of it - with the shiny new-ness of the skyscrapers in the background.
